Tires & Courtney's House

Last Sunday we were driving to Grandma's house and we stopped because we had a flat tired.  Mommy and Daddy got out of the car and played around outside until there was a new tire on the car.  I thought it was so awesome.  I told everybody about the new tire.  The next day we got to to go to a store and there were tires all over the place.  I pointed out the new tires to everyone.  I told everyone at daycare about the new tires on the van.  It was so exciting.  Then, when I played with cars and trucks, I would point out the tires on all of my toys and say that my toys had new tires.  I really like tires.

I now get to go to Courtney's house most days.  It is lots of fun.  I get to play with a lot of kids.  Then we have snacks, sing songs, read books, have lunch, take naps, and then (my favorite part) Courtney does my hair so I look good and my mommy comes to pick me and Sage up.  I really like being able to play with other kids and eating lunch with the kids.  When the other kids go potty, I go potty, too, so I hardly ever have accidents when I am at Courtney's house.

On the weekends I still get to stay home and play with Mom and Dad and Sage.  On these days, Mom frequently makes my favorite breakfast (pancakes) and Mom likes to take me to the park or to my cousins' house

I went to the doctor with Mom this week, too.  Usually the doctors want to look at e or Sage, but this time the doctor looked at Mom.  He used a machine that when put on Mommy's tummy made a funny sound.  Mom said it was my baby's heartbeat.  I don't know what that means, but when we went to Grandma's I told her that my baby makes noise.

Summer Fun

Here's some things I have been doing this summer:
 At the zoo with Daddy.
 Playing with great-Grandma
At the zoo, again, with my cousin.

I really miss playing with other kids more often.  Mom tells me that soon I get to go to Courtney's house to play and I am really excited.  I like playing with Mom, Dad, and Sage, but I don't get to play very much with other kids my size.  Sometimes we play together on the playground, but not enough.

I like to tell everybody that we are going to have another baby.  Dad says that there's a baby in Mom's tummy and that's what I tell people sometimes, but I don't know if I believe him.  Mom looks the same.  For a while Mom was always saying that she feels sick.  She would lay down in bed more and sometimes go in the bathroom and sit on the floor until she felt better.  Now when I want to snuggle with Mom more I say that I am sick and I rub my tummy.  She gives me a hug and tells me maybe I should eat something.  Mom doesn't say that anymore, though.  I am glad that Mom wants to play more with me now.

For a while, I didn't really like going potty in the toilet.  It just seemed like a lot of work.  So I sometimes went pee in my underpants.  I didn't like that, either, and Mom helped me fix it and go potty on the toilet again.  Because I didn't like that very much, I started going potty in the toilet most of the time again.  Mom seems a lot happier about it.

Backwards

Sometimes I like to do things backwards.  I like to climb up the stairs backwards.  (But I always hold on to the rail so I don't fall.)  Sometimes I like to sit on the toilet backwards when I go potty.  Mom tells me I am silly when I like to do things backwards.

I also like to jump.  I especially like to jump off really tall things when my daddy is there to catch me.  Mom doesn't play that game as good as daddy.  I jump off the couch and land on my feet.  I jump off the curb when I get into the car.  I jump on the floor when I dance.

I also like to go to work.  Mommy goes to work and locks me out of her bedroom.  Sometimes she lets me come in and I go to work with her.  She types on the computer and I watch her and sometimes eat some crackers or cheese.  Sometimes I sit on her bed and I work by watching Mickey Mouse.  It's really fun to go to work.  I can see why Mom does it all the time.

Mom keeps telling me that Sage's birthday is coming up.  I think it should be my birthday so I tell mom that it is my birthday and we need to have a party.  Mom tells me that my birthday is in February.  I think that must be really soon.  I am excited.

It is so hot outside right now.  I can't go on the slide in the afternoon, because it is too hot to play on the playground.  Instead, we read books inside and we play with toys like basketball and cars.  I also ride my motorcycle inside a lot.  I only get to take it outside when we play in the morning.

Monkey

Mom calls me her little monkey.  It's because I'm always climbing on things.  For example, after I go potty I climb up the sink to wash my hands, even if I don't have my stool.  I can even get a drink out of the sink the same way Daddy does by climbing up and drinking right out of the faucet.

I climb on all sorts of things.  I am really good a getting into lots of places.  I can get into the fridge.  I can climb up into the car.  I can get up on all sorts of furniture.  I am also learning how to get past some of the barriers Mom put up.  For example, if she puts the white child lock on my door to keep me in my room during my nap, I can bang it really hard and it will come off.  If I want to go up the stairs to find Mom when she shut the baby gate at the bottom of the stairs, I can sometimes shove the gate open.  I know to close the gate behind me, though, so Sage doesn't go up.

I am having so much fun with Mom and Dad this summer.  My favorite is to go see the polar bear at the zoo.
I have a toy polar bear that I like to bring with  me everywhere now.  I also make sure he is in bed with me when I go to sleep.  We sometimes go swimming or outside to ride motorcycles.  Last week I got to play with the kids in the water.  I didn't have my swimming suit on, so Mom just took off my shoes and my shirt and I played in my pants.

I am getting really good at counting.  I say:  one, two, twee, four, ive, ix, stebben, eight, nine, ten, weven, twev, thirteen, fourteen, fourteen, fourteen, fourteen".  I like to count so much sometimes I point to the same things and keep counting them with bigger numbers.  I am so good with my numbers that sometimes I ask Mom for two pickles or three potty treats.

Polar Bears

So much has happened since my birthday when Mom last helped me write.  I have grown up so much.  Grandma and Grandpa are amazed at how much I talk.  I was talking a lot at home before that, but I got more shy around other people.  I love to talk.  I like to point at things in my books and say "what's that?" and then tell Mom what it is.  I know all sorts of words.  I like to talk to Mom when she is driving the car.  I point out all of the motorcycles to her.  I love motorcycles.  Whenever I hear a plane, or a train, or a fire truck, or a motorcycle, I tell Mom what the sound is.

A little while after my birthday, Mom and I were walking down the stairs and my leg go really hurt.  It's all better now, but my favorite thing about that was that the day the doctor took my caste off, she got me a motorcycle of my own.  I love going outside to play on my motorcycle.  We go to the playground and play with the other kids.  Sometimes we take bread or crackers to the ducks and Mom lets me drive my motorcycle.  Right now, though, Mom frequently tells me it's too hot to go outside.  The slides at the playground get really hot and I can't sit on them.  We play outside in the morning a lot instead.

Tuesday we went to the zoo.  I have learned so many animals and it was fun to see them all and to make their sounds.  We saw monkeys and elephants and all sorts of things.  My favorite animals was the polar bear.  He was swimming in the water a lot and he could come right up in front of me and then dive backwards into the water and keep swimming.  I have a polar bear toy at home which I didn't like very much before I saw a real polar bear.  Now I like to take my polar bear toy with me wherever I go.

I now get to wear underpants thunderpants every day.  I really like them.  My favorite ones have Hulk or Wolverine on footballs on them.  Sometimes Mom puts me in plain white or blue ones.  I don't like them as much, but they are still way better than diapers.  I can go potty all by myself.  I like to tell Mom when the pee or poops are going swimming.  Sometimes I need help pulling my pants back up, but I can do everything else all  by myself.  I even wash my hands every time I go potty.  I really like soap.

It's so light outside at night when Mom and Dad try to put me to bed.  I have trouble falling asleep, so I look out the window and I talk to my polar bear.  Sometimes Mom comes in and gets mad at me for being awake, but I ask her to sing me a song and then I usually go to bed.  I like it when Mom sings me songs at bedtime.

Two Years Old!!!

When someone asks me how old I am, I now say "2".  I have been practicing this with Mom for a week, so now that it's my birthday I can tell people.  I would love to put some pictures or videos of me playing basketball or singing songs or playing in the bathtub or something, but Mom is a slacker and won't put them up.  I will talk to her about it.  Now that I am two, people need to see how handsome and grown up I am.

Mom and I have been so sick this week.  When I am sick I like to take medicine.  Now that it's my birthday, I am feeling better, though.  I wanted to take some medicine, but Mom wouldn't let me.

We got to take cupcakes to daycare yesterday and my friends all sang happy birthday and we all ate cupcakes.  I really like cupcakes.  Mom says I get to eat another cupcake today when it is my party.  Tonight a few of my cousins and my grandpas and grandmas are coming over.  We are going to play with balloons and dance to all my favorite songs.  We also get to color pictures.

I love my family.  Every day when my dad comes home, I run to the door and "DAD" and give him a big hug.  I give toys to Sage so she can play with them and I say "sorry" and give her a big hug when I accidentally hurt her.  I love to snuggle with Mom and I always give her a big hug when she has to go to work in the morning.  My favorite time of the day is when we all sit on the couch at night and Mom and Dad take turns reading stories to me.  Then I say good night to everybody.  (I even say good night to the doggies.  Mom thinks I am silly because we don't have any doggies.)  My other favorite time is when Mom or Dad shoot basketballs with me.  I find all the balls.  I keep my favorite ball and give the rest of the balls to Mom or Dad.  I make sure they never run out of balls to throw.

One day when I wanted to go outside to play, Mom said I needed to get my coat.  I brought Mom all my jackets and coats I could find and we put them all on.  (We even had to put one on backwards to get it to fit.)  Sometimes I like to be silly:

I can...

I can do all sorts of things.
  • I have been able to open doors for a while, unless Mom put one of the funny white things on the door.  I hate that.
  • I can say my name - I point to myself in the mirror or in a picture and say "Gen".  I also point to Mom, Dad, Baby, Mama (grandma), and Gmpa (grandpa) and say their names, also.  I really like to look at picturs of myself and people I know.  When we get to daycare, I call her "Na-Nee"
  • I can get into the car when Mom pushes the button and the door opens.
  • I can open the fridge and pantry to look for a snack or drink when I am hungry.
  • I am really good at helping Mom do laundry.  She will hand me clothes, lift me up and I put them in the washer.  Also, when she is folding clothes I take them out of the laundry basket and give them to Mom.
  • I can throw the ball really good, and sometimes I even catch it.
  • I can get my favorite books off of the shelf and take them to Mom to read to me.  I can also turn pages.  My favorite books are the ones with the animals (Mom and I make funny animal sounds), and my book about Man (Mom calls him Spider Man).
  • I can blow bubbles if Mom gives me the right blower for bubbles.
  • I can play guitar with Daddy.  Mostly I just dance when he plays guitar, though.
I was really, really sick a couple of weeks ago.  Mom had to take me to the doctor and I was so hot.  I got to eat a lot of medicine, though (I like the taste of it).  Also, I got to snuggle extra with Mom.  I felt so sick I had trouble falling asleep.  Mom would hold me in the rocking chair until I fell asleep.  Even when I was feeling better, I wanted Mom to hold me a lot.  I really like that.  Now I like to play again more, and just get some hugs from Mom.

Sometimes when I want something and Mom won't let me have it I get really mad.  I stomp my feet on the group and yell.  I used to lay on the floor and scream, but that didn't get me what I wanted, so I started doing this instead.  I'll have to see if it works.

This picture was taken before I got my hair cut.  Mom says I need another hair cut again.

My pants used to fall down all the time.  I would get frustrated when I was walking.  Mom made me two belts that help hold my pants up.  It's pretty awesome.
